Does anyone know of a Homeopathic cure or alternative medicine for schizophrenia?

I am drugged up on so much medicine that I can’t live my life. Does anyone know of an alternative medication that I could take?

Schizophrenia or a Split Personality as it is commonly known is not very easy to treat. Homeopathy does offer solutions but it needs treatment and follow-up over a long period.

Homeopathic science is an uprising in the treatment of all types of psychological illnesses including Schizophrenia. Homeopathy treats the person as a whole, which means that it focuses on the patient’s body, mind, emotions and the pathological condition. Homeopathic treatment is the most curative, non-toxic, gentle and modern treatment. In view of the fact that it works with the person’s own vital force towards equilibrium and healing, it will influence the brain chemistry and assist the patient in resuming psychological strength and symmetry. In conclusion, the Homeopathic understanding of health believes that body and mind are dynamically interconnected and that both directly influence each other. Homeopathic treatment will relieve the symptoms of Schizophrenia giving the patient an improved awareness of their disease and a deeper self-consciousness, thus contributing to permit the patient a healthier life quality.

Suggested remedy:

I would suggest homeopathic remedy Anacardium 1M [1M = 1000](3-4 drops in ¼ glass of water; preferably empty-stomached) once in 7 days and Lycopodium 200 (3-4 drops in ¼ glass of water; preferably empty-stomached)once in 7 days.

Every Friday – Anarcadium 1M
Every Saturday – Lycopodium 200

If no response is seen within a reasonable amount of time, select a different remedy.

Why is it that when physical therapists use unproven methods it is not called alternative medicine?

I mean the physical therapy department at the hospital uses therapeutic ultrasound and electrical stimulation regularly and they are not called alternative medicine but there is not proff documented that they really work. So what makes them not alternative medicine if they are not scientifically proven?

…I question why we use it at all. You are correct…not only are they not proven, but for the most part they’ve been UNproven. PTs that are on the cutting edge of evidence based practice realize this.

…there is a good body of evidence for exercise, mechanical classification, directional preference exercise etc. These are the things on which we need to continue to focus.

Its things like ultrasound, electrical stim, massage, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, strain counterstrain, and kinesiotaping which are giving the profession a bad name. I suggest that insurance companies stop paying for them until it’s proven otherwise.

…I agree with you 100%

…but let’s call them what they really are: The placebo effect

What does the term ‘alternative medicine’ mean?

I’ve got an exam coming up and the first article is Homeopathy, and question one is ”What does the term ‘alternative medicine’ mean?

I Don’t know how to answer this question as I can’t understand what alternative medicine means. Cna somebody explain or tell me what I could write to best fit this answer?

alterative medicines are things like herbs herbal remmedeys, acupunture, massage and natural things,,

What’s the best way to find a local primary care doctor with more of an "alternative medicine" leading?

I’ve got Blue Cross coverage, and I can’t tell from their directory of doctors who would be more likely to have an alternative medicine leaning (in other words, if there’s a problem, the first answer isn’t just a pharmeseutical one, but might involve nutrition/natural remedies.)

Any thoughts of how to find a doctor like this? Thanks!

Good luck with that!
I have been unable to find such a person. Educate yourself. The internet is a great tool and find people to help you with advice. Personally, I have a number of books to refer to in addition to the internet, plus I see a chiropractor reguarly and a massage therapist. I also have different friends who know a lot about food and nutrition and natural remedies and healing. I consider my GP one of many resources when it comes to my health and well being.

Does anyone have any scientific evidence supporting alternative medicine?

Please, do no tell me anecdotes, personal stories, or anything like that. The last thing I want to hear is about how alternative medicine worked for you. I think that is wonderful but it hardly serves as proof. I want to see some sort of hard evidence. The ideal would be a randomized, double blind, placebo controlled trial. Any trial or study would suffice. I am looking for some websites or something to read to supply me with evidence. Thanks for your help!

You can look at the NCCAM division of the NIH (http://nccam.nih.gov/), which funds research on alternative medicine in the United States. They’ve run multiple double blind placebo controlled on some of the more popular alternative methods.

Though in the 18 years they have been running, and despite near a billion dollars spent, they have yet to come up with one useful treatment, or come up with evidence supporting one.

EDIT: I think the two sites below speak to a lot of the problems in trying to do any research in this area, and are a testament to the veracity of altmed in general.

We have conspiracy theories, outright hallucinations, beliefs that Russia and China have armies hiding in bunkers under British Columbia.

And shameless fellation of Ron Paul, who’s ideas on healthcare come from an organization(The American Academy of Physicians and Surgeons) that is involved in HIV denialism, removal of laws protecting patients from exploitation and scams, and outright racism.

How can I convince my family of the potential of alternative medicine?

I have read all 3 of Kevin Trudeau’s books after reading several other alternative medicine books and I am trying to get my family convinced to try some of this stuff.

there isn’t a good way…the guy (rhsaunde…) probably does not have any grasp on the FDA. if he knew anything about them he would know that their funding is in a big part from the drug companies. you cannot receive funding from herbal remedies and stuff, so it would be best not to endorse any…..i know a lot of alternative meds are wacky, but here is my experience. i have an incurable liver disease. the only help the doctors offered was pegasys(kinda like chemotherapy for a year) i heard about milk thistle and tried it. i have had wonderful results. i know it works cus i can tell a huge difference when i dont take it. every single health care professional i have asked about it would not give me a comment one way or another on its effectiveness. you will not find any credible people who can endorse them. if they do, be weary because if its their product, it will always be the best…….maybe look to independant studies or peoples testimonies on both sides

Is there an alternative medicine for Malabsorption?

I have been suffering from malabsorption for a couple of years. I am not gaining any weight even though i increased my diet intake, although I have not lost any weight. I have severe case of flatulence and farts smell bad. My stool also smells bad. Does any Yoga or Bikram Yoga or Any alternative medicine cure or help this?

yes, i had a dog with this problem.
I went to the health food store:I bought digestive enzymes for him:the enzymes had to be taken with the first mouthful/first bite of food.my dog gained weight, diarrhoea stopped.
he lived 11 years.
You can also buy pancreatin at the health store:it is an extract from the cows or pigs pancreas. it works wonderful!
